"ONE" Hundred Acre Woods

Today's post is from my son Parker's 1st Birthday last November. It was a "ONE" Hundred Acre Woods party. It was recently featured on P is for Party. Christi has an amazing blog with great features. I was incredibly honored to be featured. Be sure to stop by P is for Party, you'll be glad you did!
I went with a classic Pooh theme with warm browns and golds. Juliet from Stylish Celebrations created the invitations, favor tags, bag toppers, happy birthday banner, and circles for the party hats I made. She was wonderful to work with and had great ideas. By the way this was my first attempt at making party hats. I'm kinda addicted now. The possibilities are endless!
For lunch we served sandwiches, "piglets" in a blanket, and vegetables fresh from rabbits garden. Beverages included Parker's root beer ( found at our local Safeway...so perfect ) and bottled water with custom labels. For dessert we had beehive cupcakes, chocolate dipped brownie bites, and the most adorable cake made by my mom ( with engineering support from my dad ).
The kiddos played drop the bee in the honeypot. I collected over the summer ( yes I was planning it that early ;) ) terra cotta pots which I painted to look like hunny pots. The bees were painted clothespins. Then they hunted for eyore tails I had made and hid around the house. Lastly they played drop a potato from rabbits garden in the basket. They were fun games and the kids loved them. Favors for the kids were hobo sacks made out of red bandanna fabric and tied to the end of a wooden dowel. They turned out adorable! Adults took home bags of Reece's pieces. The bag topper read " thank you for coming to Parker's party. Hope you had a hunny of a time". It's hard to believe he's going to be 2 before I know it!
