The Thornton Nest is Growing

Last week I had the pleasure of hosting a baby shower for my good friend and co worker Shelly. Shelly and her husband are expecting a baby boy they are naming Archer in July. Shelly is an avid outdoor person and loves the color orange. I on the other hand am not a big outdoor person and love soft feminine designs. But, i have to tell you I love how her shower turned out. The theme was the Thornton Nest is growing and our colors were orange and brown. There was a fabulous woodland birthday party from Katie Grace Designs circulating which provided some darling inspiration. Carli from Dimpleprints designed the invitation, thank you tags, advice cards, and the circles with Archer's ultrasound picture in them.

I love his name hanging from the branch on the invite!

The centerpieces were mason jars filled with branches trimmed from our trees. I cut out and attached leaves from coordinating scrapbook paper and the circles from Dimpleprints

.
Shelly and I painted birdhouses I found at the Dollar store.

Guests wrote words of advice and wishes for the mom to be

Lemon ice water and champagne punch were served in mason jars with drink tags attached. I also wrapped bottles of orange crush soda with fabric and secured it with diaper pins.

The dessert table consisted of a fantastic cake made by my go to cake girl A.KA. my mom, cake pops, rice krispie nests with malted milk eggs, and smores on a stick (another Katie Grace Design idea)

Take home thank you favors were jars of homemade pepper jelly made by Shelly and I. I found the latch top jars at Michaels for $1 ea!!

YUMMY!!!!!

It was a great shower and I can't wait to meet Archer! Thank you to Arlene for helping with the food. And as with each of my parties a BIG thank you to my husband and my parents! Thanks for being both patient and incredibly helpful :) Tracy
